Biographie

Thoughts on opponent, Jake O’Brien? I was supposed to fight Jake five months ago, but I had a neck injury. Jake’s a good guy, a good wrestler.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started boxing when I was 16 years old. Where I grew up I got into quite a few fights and I was good at it, so I figured, why not start boxing? I got good at it, I stuck with it through college, graduated college and got a job working as a computer technician. I worked there for a few months and got laid off, and then a buddy of mine called me up and told me that there weren’t that many good boxers at this school in Nashville. He suggested that I move down, cross train, and teach some boxing as well. So I just up and moved. That was 2002, and ever since then, I’ve been training with Ed.

What ranks and titles have you held? I won the heavyweight title tournament at the Kentucky Fighting Championships, Shooto America Brawl at the Ballpark heavyweight champion, Legends of Fighting heavyweight champion.

Do you have any heroes? Jesus

What is your favorite technique? The War Hammer (double hammer fist from the mounted position.)

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a big step up and it’s definitely nice to finally be able to step up and fight in a bigger show in front of a whole lot of people and entertain the crowd. I just want to go out there and put on a fight that people are gonna enjoy watching.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Associates Degree in Information Technology.

What was your job before you started fighting? Computer tech, Corrections Officer, coach for other fighters.
