Biographie

Describe your current day-to-day life. Tell us about your family, job, etc.: Every morning I find my farm animals, train with superstars and make music videos where I perform all my own stunts.

Why are you a fighter? Besides it being a huge passion of mine, to pursue a career where pay isn't that great for a long time and getting a real job just isn't a fun story. I want to be able to tell my family when I'm 80 years old.

Describe your upbringing: Raised in a divorced home my mom raised me and my brother most of the time. We moved from Indianapolis to southern Indiana and lived like a wild jungle child doing pranks and having to be the guinea pig to all my brother's stupid ideas.

What’s been the biggest challenge in your life? Losing my brother and my cousins.

How do you want to improve your life? I want to be able to help the younger generations learn. Oh, and I would also like an Xbox and new Reebok shoes.

What does a UFC contract mean to you? That i can finally start paying my manager and student loans. It would also allow me to compete on the highest platform in my sport.

Tell us something interesting about yourself: My last name is Yoda, "the force is strong with me." I also once choked "Smile'n" Sam Alvey out. I can do gymnastics into armbars/no handed armbars. I'm really good at bad jokes and am a great pranker.

TRAINING: My fight camps are all very much the same in that I am always training everything. I show up to the gym and I start my day with either boxing, BJJ, and / or strength and conditioning, and end my day in the same fashion.

Thoughts on opponent, Angela Hill? I think she is a very skilled striker and it’s going to be a fun fight. I respect her as a fighter and I know we will put on a great show for the fans.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I just fought on Nov. 18 for Invicta so I think it is safe to say I am always training.

What ranks and titles have you held? I am a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Ricardo Feliciano and a part of CheckMat BJJ

Do you have any heroes? My mom and dad are my heroes. We have experienced a lot in our family, but they always show me the way to push forward and I look up to both of them and love them with my whole heart.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? I was on The Ultimate Fighter Season 23 and when I lost and got cut from the UFC I had one focus and that was to get back to the highest level of competition in MMA and guess what ...IM HERE! It means the world to me and I won't let the opportunity slip again.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes, I graduated from Indiana University and received a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and African American Diaspora Studies.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was a college student and lifeguard.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I had a belt in the EPIC series promotion located in California

Ranks in any martial arts styles: I won IBJJF Pan-AMS and Worlds as a white belt. I also got Bronze as a Blue Belt at IBJJF Worlds. I have won a lot in BJJ tournaments but those stick out as the most notable wins.
