Biographie

TRAINING: I wake up, have my first meal of the day and head over to ATT Headquarters in Coconut Creek for about two hours, then have another meal and rest up a bit. After I'm rested. I head over to Real World Training Center in Coral Springs for strength and conditioning, eat again, rest up and go back to Real World Training Center to train some more and then teach.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training at the age of nine and was always fascinated by martial arts from what I've seen on TV and have been a huge fan since my younger years of the Ninja Turtles and Jean Claude Van Damme

What ranks and titles have you held? Black belt under Fred Davis in Jhoonrhee taekwondo

Do you have any heroes?  My mother and my head Instructor

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means that I am one of the best in the world at what I do. It's as if I have a gift and my hard work and dedication over the last decades have paid off and given me such an amazing opportunity to use this platform to reach out and make an impact, not only in this sport, but in the lives of the youth who don't have many positive role models to look up to.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I was taught at a young age that with a trade you never go hungry, so I went right out of high school to Atlantic Technical school for IT and created a very successful career for myself.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was a Network Engineer before I decided to make the sacrifice and focus solely on training to get myself to this level. I am currently a martial arts instructor.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? Went undefeated as a Muay Thai kickboxer 12-0. Undefeated under the P.A.L. Banner in boxing, undefeated in amateur MMA. Held multiple state and national Karate championships under the N.A.S.K.A Circuit and the F.A.M.E Circuit

Favorite grappling technique: Triangle

Favorite Striking technique: Reverse hook kick

  • Pro since 2011
  • Five wins by KO, one by submission (Armbar)

  • Four first round finishes

  • Origin of nickname: “This is pretty much taking a bad name / rep that we have as Colombians and making a spin on it in a positive way.”
