Biographie

TRAINING: Strength & conditioning, technique, striking, MMA and Jiu-Jitsu. I bring in all of those things into each week’s schedule.

When and why did you start training for fighting? 2001; my friend got me started.

What ranks and titles have you held?  Third-ranked Pancrase middleweight, 2003 ADCC Japanese qualification winner.

Do you have an heroes? Caol Uno

What is your favorite technique?  Ground and pound

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC?  UFC is my dream since from when I started training MMA, and my challenge to the world.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn?  No

What was your job before you started fighting?  Working in a restaurant and Pachinko

•    Last man to defeat Anderson Silva (via disqualification in January of 2006)

•    10 wins by KO / TKO, four wins by submission

•    Has fought against Amar Suloev, Falaniko Vitale, Nick Thompson, and Jake Shields in non-UFC bouts.

•    13-4 in the UFC

•    Handed Belcher, Roberts, Starnes, Singer, and Swick their first UFC losses
