Carwin ersetzt Lesnar am 11. Juni gegen Dos Santos
Nachdem Brock Lesnar bereits im Jahr 2009 mit Divertikulitis ausgefallen war, erholte er sich und verteidigte seine UFC Weltmeisterschaft letzten Juli gegen Shane Carwin, bevor er den Titel an Cain Velasquez verlor. Brock musste seinen Kampf bei UFC 131 gegen Junior Dos Santos nun absagen, nachdem er einen Rückfall erlitt.

UFC-Präsident Dana White verkündete die schlechte Nachricht in einer Telefonkonferenz am Donnerstagabend.

Der frühere Interimsweltmeister Shane Carwin wird Lesnar am 11. Juni in Vancouver, Kanada vertreten. Carwin hätte eigentlich bei UFC 131 gegen Jon Olav Einemo antreten sollen.

Lesnar und Dos Santos haben in den letzten Wochen als Coaches bei der dreizehnten Staffel von The Ultimate Fighter gearbeitet.
